Mr. Bell joined Pine Brook in September 2008 to work on investments in the energy sector. Mr. Bell has five years experience as a principal investor and investment banker, four years of which were in energy.Prior to joining Pine Brook, he was an investment analyst at Ore Hill Partners, a multi-strategy hedge fund, where he invested in distressed mortgage-backed securities, real estate, and financial companies. Prior to joining Ore Hill in 2007, Mr. Bell was an associate for two years at Cadent Energy Partners, a $600 million private equity fund investing solely in the energy sector. While at Cadent, he helped invest in and oversee portfolio companies throughout the energy spectrum, including: oil & gas exploration and production, oilfield services and equipment, power services, coal services and some renewables. Prior to joining Cadent, Mr. Bell was an investment banking analyst in the Global Power Mergers & Acquistions Group of Lehman Brothers. Mr. Bell holds an A. B. cum laude in Economics from Harvard.
