Mr. Burba joined Pine Brook in September of 2008 as a Vice
President in the Energy Group. Mr. Burba has over 9 years of experience
in the energy sector as a principal investor, investment banker and project finance
counsel. Prior to joining Pine Brook, Mr. Burba spent four years at Credit
Suisse where he was most recently a principal investor with the Special Opportunities
Group with responsibility for investments in energy, metals & mining, renewables
and oil & gas. While at Credit Suisse, Mr. Burba was involved in six
energy, renewable energy and mining principal investments and served on the Board
of Directors of a Denver-based midstream acquisition and development company. Prior
to joining the Special Opportunities Group, Mr. Burba was an investment banker
in the Energy Group at Credit Suisse where he closed nearly $3 billion in debt
and equity capital for power, oil & gas and renewable energy companies, and
advised energy companies in multiple project finance transactions. Prior
to joining Credit Suisse in 2004, Mr. Burba spent four years as a project finance
counsel at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, representing energy companies
and investors in a variety of domestic and cross-border capital raises, acquisitions
and restructurings. Mr. Burba holds a J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School where
he was a John S. Beasley Scholar and the recipient of the Bennett Douglas Bell
Memorial Award and
B.A. degrees in Mathematics and Music from W. Virginia University – Summa
Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He is a member of the New York
Bar and is Series 7 certified. |
